Filming with sound
In our second workshop we were taught how to film with sound. The hardware devices that we used were the Vinten Tripod with the camera on top. We used the Sennheiser shotgun mic which attached onto the back of the camera and allowed us to film with sound. All of our film was collected by the Lexar Pro memory card and taken up the the editing suite and put on the software Premiere Pro.

Filming
We began filming by setting up all of our hardware to make sure that we could film with sound. We set up our two actors opposite each other so that we could practice cutting our shots to focus on the person that is talking. We got our actors to perform the same little sequence three times whilst we filmed a mid shot, close up and a wide shot. I also got to film extra shots so that it would make our sequence more interesting like a close up of shoes tapping and nail biting.
Editing
We secured all of our film on the Lexar Pro memory card and uploaded it to the software Premiere Pro where we put all our our shots in the rushes and the log bin. Editing with sound is much harder than without sound as you have to make sure that no sound overlaps or is cut out. To make sure we got this correctly, I put all of the shots on the timeline and made sure that I cut the sound so that they don't overlap and then I cut the shots so that they focus on the person talking. I added in the extra shots that I took at the end of the filming day to add emphasis.
